WELCOME!
Please Note: Due to a health emergency, Jane Hall (the Pineapple lady) will not be able to join us in October.
We have two more fabulous quilters coming to share their talents
with WQI. They are Jane Hall and
Jane Townswick. Check out the meetings
page for a full description of the treats in store for the October meeting.
In place of Jane Hall's Saturday presentation on Pineapple Quilts, and her Sunday workshop on the same, we have made arrangements to bring in Barb Vlack for the weekend. Barb comes to us from the Chicago area, and is a gifted and talented quilt designer, having authored several of the EQ (electronic quilt) computer design programs.
We are so excited that Barb will be joining us for the weekend. Some of you may remember several years ago at a WQI Round Robin meeting, where several board members did mini-class demos, that Nora Rader did a revolutionary paper piecing demo where you didn't have to sew through the paper! It was a brilliant concept, allowing you to achieve the perfection typical of paper piecing, but totally eliminating the annoying process of plucking out all of the paper when the block was completed. Well that technique is the brainchild of Barb Vlack, and she will be here to teach it herself! So we will still have a foundation piecing technique as one of our October offerings, it will just be a different approach from that done by Jane Hall.
