Linda Halpin,
Programs
Quilting has been a part of my life for as long as I can
remember. While I didn't grow up with quilts, sewing and
other forms of needlearts were always present. By
the time I discovered quilting, I had plenty of supplies
just waiting to become quilts.
Actively teaching quiltmaking across the United States
and Canada for over 30 years, I have had seven
quiltmaking books published, ranging from quilt history,
three dimensional appliqué, and quilted clothing, to
scrap quilts and patterns inspired by the Little House
on the Prairie series.
I
first became aware of WQI when I was invited to teach
for them while I still lived in New York. When we
found we would be moving to Wisconsin, it was through
WQI quilters that I located a realtor, a home, and of
course, quilt guilds. This is my second term as a
Board Member of WQI. I presently help with
programming, contacting future teachers, and
participating in the brainstorming to come up with ideas
that will keep you as members as excited about
quiltmaking as we Board Members are.
The enthusiasm and excitement generated by this great
group of people is a joy to be a part of. A native
of New York State, I now lives in Boscobel, Wisconsin.
